Henry & Holly’s Thankful Garland

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • Construction paper (we like to use red, green, and white)
  • Scissors
  • Crayons
  • Glue stick
  • A grown-up to help you with the tricky stuff
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Gather at least 10 pieces of construction paper. Use a sturdy pair of scissors to cut at least 3 strips of 2.5-inch x 10-inch size from each piece of paper.
  2. Take your crayon and write down what you’re thankful for on each of the strips (leave an inch on both ends, so you can attach it later). We’re thankful for our Mom and Dad. And we’re thankful for Oliver and all his friends. And we’re thankful for all our family and friends.
  3. Form one strip of paper into a loop. Simply create a loop by making the flat strip round, and touching the edges of the paper so that they are overlapping by at least 1 inch. Then fasten each end with glue, and hold the ends together until the glue dries.
  4. You can also tape the loops together using clear tape. Or, if you’re really pressed for time, you can even staple the ends of the loops together twice. Remember that if one loop falls apart, the garland will disconnect.
  5. Once complete, hang from your tree or mantel, or anywhere else in your home, to show everyone what you’re all thankful for.
