Edsel’s Butterball Cookies


1 cup butter
1 cup sugar, plus more for dusting cookies
3 egg yolks
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups flour
Red and green candied cherries
A grown-up to help you with the tricky stuff


Mix butter and sugar well with a spoon until fluffy.

Add egg yolks, baking powder, and flour; mix really well. Refrigerate the dough for one hour.

Remove dough and roll into a little bigger than half-inch balls. Roll the balls in a bowl of sugar.

Cut candied cherries into quarters and press into top of cookies. Bake at 325° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and cool. Eat, share, and enjoy!
